Who is responsible

Scale-Time Dynamics LLC, a Florida limited liability company (document number L26000437374), operates this website. Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies to a particular processing activity, Scale-Time Dynamics LLC acts as the controller for it.

What this site collects

Nothing through the website itself. This website is a set of static files. There is no user account, no contact form, no comment section, no newsletter sign-up and no payment processing. We do not run analytics software, advertising scripts, social media pixels or any other third-party tracking.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no cookies and uses no localStorage, sessionStorage or comparable client-side storage or tracking mechanism.

The light and dark appearance follows your own device setting, read through the standard prefers-color-scheme browser feature. Nothing about that preference is recorded, transmitted or saved anywhere.

Server logs

This site is hosted by Spaceship, Inc., 4600 East Washington Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, United States, on servers in its United States region. Like almost every website, those servers keep technical access logs. These typically record the IP address of the requesting device, the time of the request, the page or file requested, the referring page and the browser's user-agent string.

This processing is necessary to deliver the site, to keep it secure and to diagnose faults. The legal basis under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) is our legitimate interest in operating a functioning, secure website. We do not use these logs to build profiles, and we do not combine them with any other data. Retention of those logs is determined by Spaceship, in accordance with its service configuration, its operational needs and applicable legal obligations.

If you email us

If you write to us, we process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message, for the sole purpose of answering you. The legal basis is GDPR Article 6(1)(b) where your message concerns a possible or existing agreement, and Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, in all other cases.

We keep correspondence only as long as needed to deal with the matter and to meet any applicable retention obligations, and we do not add correspondents to any mailing list.

Files you download

PDFs, audio files and the simulation pack are hosted on this site and served directly. Opening or downloading them involves no third party and no additional data collection beyond the server logs described above.

Links to other sites

This site links to external services including Zenodo, Academia.edu, YouTube and Facebook. We do not embed content from them, so no request is made to those services merely by loading a page here. If you follow an external link, your browser contacts that service directly and may transmit ordinary request metadata, including your IP address, browser information and the referring origin. From then on that service's own privacy policy applies. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, their practices.

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell personal data, and we do not disclose it for advertising or behavioural profiling. Our hosting provider, Spaceship, Inc., processes technical log data and email on our behalf as a processor, and we have engaged no other processor. Spaceship's Data Processing Addendum applies automatically under its terms of service, governs that processing, and permits Spaceship to use its own subprocessors on the terms set out there.

Scale-Time Dynamics LLC is established in the United States, and the site is served from Spaceship's United States region. If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the technical log data described above is therefore processed outside your own jurisdiction. That processing is necessary to deliver the pages you asked for. For an ordinary visit to the website, the personal data processed in this way is limited to the technical log data described above. For transfers from the European Economic Area, Spaceship's Data Processing Addendum incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses of 4 June 2021 (Decision 2021/914). The safeguard applying to transfers governed by United Kingdom law is currently being confirmed with the provider, and this page will be updated once it is.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to request access to your personal data, and to request its correction, deletion or restriction; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; to data portability where that right applies; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions provided by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

Where California privacy law applies to our processing, California residents may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

In practice there is very little for us to act on, because this site collects almost nothing. To exercise any of these rights, write to info@scaletimedynamics.com.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so traffic between your browser and the server is encrypted in transit.

Changes to this policy

If the site changes in a way that affects privacy (adding analytics, a form or an embedded service), this page will be updated and the date below changed. Substantive changes will be noted here rather than made silently.
